A new chapter in the history of Sound Waves was added on Saturday, July 2, when 4,000 ravers attended the 21h of Odyssey in Esmoriz. Following a two-year wait, attendees of Portugal’s largest party rejoiced like never before as they finally got to meet, helping the festival earn the distinction of hosting its best edition yet in 2022, which will go down in history as a significant turning point.

The 7500 square meters Sound Waves enclosure, which was painted in the event’s colors of red and black, vibrated from 4 p.m. on July 2 to 1 p.m. on July 3. Two stages at the venue constituted a significant change from prior years. Ben Klock, Boston 168, Dave Clarke, Planetary Assault Systems, Luke Slater, SNTS, Stella Bossi, Toni Alvarez, and Portuguese artists Carol D’Souza, Carlos Manaça, Du/Art, Danni Gato, Link98, Miss Sheila, and Nuno Clam were all on the Mainstage for the main lineup. The second stage, which replaced the Circus Stage and was located inside a circus tent, served as a platform for emerging national performers from Portugal. There were a total of 37 performers and 35 performances spread across the two stages in Esmoriz.

The public present had access to a food court, two VIP sections, and many surprises, including the artist and tattoo artist Elisa Rezende who created particular designs for music fans in the city by the sea, which has served as Sound Waves‘ home in recent years. devices that bear the “mark” of the authentic Portuguese rave.
