Tidal sends out emails to subscribers, revealing a $1 price adjustment for its HiFi tier, with the new monthly fee being $10.99 instead of $9.99, Billboard reports.

Tidal‘s fancy music plan in the US is going up by $1, making it $11 each month. The family plan will cost $2 more, going up to $17 each month. But the expensive plan called HiFi Plus will stay the same at $20 per month.

Earlier this year, Apple Music and Amazon Music made their normal music plans more expensive. In the US, they went up from $9.99 to $10.99, and in the UK, they went up from £9.99 to £10.99.

Deezer also raised its prices. The regular music plan now costs £11.99 per month in the UK, €10.99 per month in Germany, and $10.99 per month in the US.

Getting an extra dollar from each subscriber every month may seem good, but the music industry wants these increases to happen regularly, not just one time.

According to the most recent report titled “Music in the Air” by Goldman Sachs, the analysts of the company have also reported that,

“Would expect the industry to work towards implementing price increases on a recurring basis, especially in an environment of higher inflation”.

In a statement provided by Tidal’s global head of communications, Sade Ayodele, it was stated,

“We periodically look at the pricing of our service and make adjustments as needed. We’ll continue to add new features for music fans as we continue to build the best home for music and culture.” Price increases will occur in all 61 markets where Tidal operates”.

Reports on Reddit indicate that international subscribers from various markets, including the UK, Germany, Spain, Mexico, and Argentina, have claimed to receive notifications about similar price increases. Users from these regions have reported being contacted about the changes in their subscription costs.
