With his brand-new Beirut EP, Brazilian underground veteran Victor Ruiz returns to Drumcode for the first time in two years. On July 14, Victor will perform a whole new live set as part of an exclusive Beatport stream live from Beirut to mark the release of the EP.

Victor’s live performance will be streamed online for the first time ever during this eagerly awaited new live stream. Along with all fresh and in-the-moment versions of songs from his enviable back catalog, it will include every track from this brand-new Beirut EP. Exclusive Victor Ruiz x Drumcode x Customized Culture merch will be unveiled during the stream and will be sold for 72 hours exclusively, with 20% of proceeds going to a Beirut charity. Victor has a strong sense of honor as Drumcode has never previously collaborated on goods with another artist. The stream will go live on Thursday 14th July at 7 pm CET via https://www.twitch.tv/beatportofficial.

His four-track ep, ‘Beirut,’ heralds yet another crucial development for the São Paulo-born musician. This opus is a prime example of Ruiz’s ability to create dramatic tension and beauty in equal measure. Ruiz has always operated at the more expressive end of the techno spectrum. One of his favorite cities is honored in the title track.

The powerful and ominous ‘Confession‘ demonstrates another aspect of his producing style; it is driven by a scorching synth line and smoky vocals. A belter with organic beats and natural sounds to evoke the impression of being in the jungle, ‘Jurema‘ draws inspiration from the well-known Brazilian spiritual tree and has lyrics in Portuguese discussing mysticism. The final track on the EP is titled ‘Omen,’ which is a peak-time piston with a tremendous melodic lead intended for major festival moments.

Beirut’ is a very emotional song and at the same time, very powerful. Just like the city. I wanted to make a track that would be beautiful and a kicker at the same time.
