Zedd, Alesso, and many others, are mourning the loss of Liam Payne after the One Direction singer’s tragic passing.

Zedd, Alesso, and countless artists have taken to social media to honor Liam Payne, who tragically died on October 16th in Argentina. According to Buenos Aires emergency services, Payne, 31, fell from a third-story balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel and suffered a fatal injury. “He suffered a fracture at the base of the skull”, said emergency services chief Alberto Crescenti in comments translated from Spanish. The news, first reported by Todo Noticias, has left fans and artists devastated.

Among those paying tribute is Zedd, who collaborated with Payne on the 2017 global hit Get Low. In a post shared on X, the DJ expressed his shock: “I can’t believe this is real… absolutely heartbreaking”. Additionally, he added,

“Life is short and fragile… You never know what people are going through. We should do our best to be kind, supportive, and mindful.”

Alesso, who worked with Payne on Midnight in 2020, shared his grief in a heartfelt Instagram post: “Can’t believe you’re gone, Liam”. Furthermore, he added,

“I’m grateful we got to create magic together on Midnight and even more thankful for the friendship we had. We shared many laughs and great memories that I’ll carry with me always. Rest easy, my friend.”

The flood of tributes kept coming, including heartfelt messages from Steve Aoki, who collaborated with Payne on several occasions both on stage and in the studio. He remarked,

“I’ll miss u dear friend. It’s so difficult to write this out… A true legend and a kinder soul with a heart of gold.”

Jonas Blue, who collaborated with Payne on Polaroid, expressed his sadness, writing,

“Beyond sad to hear this news. Rest well my friend.”

Paris Hilton commented on the widespread shock that extended beyond the music world,

“So upsetting to hear the news of Liam Payne passing… RIP my friend.”
