Five top European nightlife experts collaborate to launch NightSchool, an EU-wide training program for early-career night culture producers, emphasizing sustainability.

As global awareness of environmental issues grows, the demand for sustainable practices in all sectors intensifies. This is particularly crucial in the cultural realm, where events and nightlife greatly influence our societal and economic fabric. In response to this, VibeLab, FUSE, Kaņepes Kultūras Centrs, BASIS Vinschgau Venost, KASINO Club, and Transversal Project, all nightlife expert organizations, have launched NightSchool, an EU-funded initiative aimed at supporting emerging nightlife curators in Europe.

NightSchool offers a unique chance to learn about sustainability in the nightlife industry. Backed by the Creative Europe fund, NightSchool provides €75,000 in funding to 15 participants, who will be paired with industry experts for peer-learning sessions. The program empowers individuals to realize sustainable event ideas and tackle cultural sector challenges.

The initiative speaks volumes about the importance of community, diversity, and ecological responsibility in the nighttime cultural scene. NightSchool brings together individuals from different backgrounds and cultures. This not only fosters a sense of community but also promotes diversity and inclusivity in the industry.

Co-founder Mirik Milan says,

Nightlife creatives and culture producers are first and foremost problem solvers. They are needed right now, more than ever to take on the unique challenges and opportunities of our rapidly evolving cultural sector.

A key feature of NightSchool is its emphasis on peer-learning. By pairing participants with industry experts, the program creates a collaborative learning environment where individuals can share their ideas, experiences, and challenges. This not only enhances the learning experience but also promotes networking and the exchange of best practices.

The program also aims to address the challenges faced by the evolving cultural sector. In an era of advancing technology and shifting consumer trends, the nightlife industry undergoes continuous transformations. NightSchool acknowledges the imperative for individuals to adeptly navigate these changes, providing them with essential skills and knowledge for success.

Applications for NightSchool are now open until April 12th, and we encourage all emerging nightlife curators in Europe to apply. This is a unique opportunity to not only gain valuable knowledge and skills but also to be a part of a community that is committed to creating a more sustainable and responsible nightlife culture.
