With ‘ten days’, Fred again.. delivers a mix of emotional storytelling and infectious beats, featuring standout collaborations, though not without its uneven moments.

Fred Again..’s latest album, ten days, further cements his reputation as a rising star in electronic dance music. The album, a deeply personal and introspective work, showcases Fred’s ability to blend emotive storytelling with infectious beats. With the concept of ‘ten songs about ten days’, Fred reflects on intimate moments from the past year. The project feels raw and personal, yet is filled with immaculate vibes. Despite its introspective nature, the album has energetic highlights and impressive collaborations—artists like Anderson .Paak, Obongjayar, and Sampha contribute to these standout moments.

ten days shines with standout tracks like ‘places to be‘, where Anderson .Paak delivers an unforgettable feature. As well as ‘adore u‘ that kicks off the album with Obongjayar’s vibrant energy. Finally, track ‘ten‘, featuring Jozzy and Jim Legxacy, which explores a deeper house sound with upbeat production and minimal yet catchy lyrics. Nevertheless, the album has some inconsistencies, as Fred created it purely for fun without trying to impress. This is a respectable approach, however, the irregularities are inevitable. Some tracks, like ‘glow‘ and ‘just stand there‘, fall flat with less compelling production and unappealing vocal choices. However, songs like ‘peace u need‘ and ‘where will i be‘, featuring Emmylou Harris, showcase Fred’s ability to balance vocal elements with dreamy production.

Fred’s versatility as a producer and performer is evident throughout this record. Some lyrical attempts don’t fully hit the mark, but his boldness in stepping out of his comfort zone is admirable. The album offers a mix of emotional depth, catchy beats, and powerful collaborations. This proves Fred again.. is a name to watch in the EDM scene, even if the record doesn’t fully meet the hype of the singles, previous sets and projects.
