Following his previous singles, “Erase You” and “Time,” ZUSO returns with “Hurting.” Released last Thursday (May 8), the single features captivating vocals from Melbourne-based artist Keelan Mak.

The track was written by Gabriel while traveling in London last year. “I wrote Hurting whilst in London, travelling last year—heavy influences of UKG and stutter house inspired me to start the idea. It became a more meaningful and emotionally powerful song, and I knew it needed vocals. So when I got back to Sydney, I worked with Keelan, and his voice just brought the song to life.”

The single opens with warm piano chords, soft vocals from Keelan Mak, a dreamy melody, and tasty beats. The track showcases a seamless fusion of UK garage and stutter-house influences.

Speaking about the collaboration, ZUSO shares, “I had listened to Keelan’s music before and absolutely loved his voice. Luckily, both our management teams knew each other, so it kind of just flowed from there.”

This summer, he’s set to release an EP, with more exciting releases and collaborations on the way.
