Fresh off a string of intense shows in Mexico, the Mexico-based, Ireland-born artist Boom Merchant is back on the production side. This time, he delivers a deep techno four-tracker titled Suena Bien. He describes the EP as “Tough, driving, groovy percussion and slamming low end.”
The title track kicks off the EP with peaking drums, pitched and shuffling hats, and haunting synths. The breakdown transports you straight into a peak-time techno warehouse set—it’s pure class. You’ll be shouting, “One water, please!” as the energy ramps up.

Then comes “Sparkle,” a standout from the rest of the EP. “Sparkle is definitely the track on the EP with the most oldskool influence, and the most traditional sound and feel. The euphoric piano and soulful vocals play off one another to give it quite a gospel sound,” the artist shares.
“Fourth Wind” gives you a moment to breathe—but it’s far from a cooldown. With its pounding kick drum and dynamic, textured arrangement, the momentum doesn’t let up.
Finally, “Red Sun Dub” closes the EP with an evolving arrangement, a hard-hitting kick drum, and a squelchy acid bassline.
Boom Merchant continues to channel his creativity through Tribal Pulse, a label that has been going from strength to strength for well over a decade. It’s the place where he’s released some of his most out-there tracks, and in recent years, it has also been a frequent home for artists like Homma Honganji, Hockins, and Obsidian Wave.

Tribal Pulse is more than a label—it’s a global family, constantly growing with fresh talent like Lefrenk and iluna joining the roster. While a large portion of his work is released via Tribal Pulse, Boom Merchant has also explored other platforms.
In the past year alone, he’s dropped EPs on T78’s Autektone Dark, Sisko Elektrofanatik’s Gain Plus, LaLa’s Brand New Records, and a few other notable imprints.
