A longtime figure in UK house and bass music, Chris Lorenzo has built a catalog through releases like “California Dreaming,” “Appetite,” and “Rhymes.” The Birmingham producer reunites here with longtime friend and collaborator aMo (um), whose background as a drummer helped shape his fusion of rave, jungle, techno, and minimal house influences.
“HOTS 4 U” opens with rapid-fire hi-hats and snappy percussion before dropping into a gritty bassline layered with acid textures and classic vocal samples. The track pulls influence from old-school rave, house, and UK sounds while maintaining a modern club-focused energy.
Speaking on the collaboration, Lorenzo said: “This is a record born out of 20 years of friendship. When I first moved out at 18, aMo (um) was my first housemate. Over the years, we have always had the same musical tastes.”
aMo (um) added: “Two decades of friendship laid the foundation for this moment. From the day we met, our shared passion for music just clicked.”
